What are billboards? they are giant ads we see in person, the beauty of them is we whichever company is advertising themselves really exhibit their creativity and today I'm going to review two billboards that caught my attention. 

Billboard 1:  

 

The first Billboard I see is for a company called Vanta With the following quote that says " Compliance that doesn't SOC 2 much" very clever and humorous phrasing. When I first saw this ad I immediately deduced that it was a Business 2 Business company. The brand's message and selling proposition is that they do your compliance work for you, they remove that inconvenience for you. You may ask what is compliance? Compliance is companies making sure they follow regulations from the government and also that employees follow internal policy. The brand's audience is obviously companies that want to remove that burden from themselves and have Vanta do that grunt work. The brand does have value and its value is convenience and simplicity. This billboard's appeal is Pathos because the billboard is emotional and evokes feelings of humor. The billboard humorous, witty quote is what makes the billboard fall under the pathos appeal.

Billboard 2:

The second billboard I saw is for a company called inference.ai and their billboard says "NEED GPU?". The phrasing is very simple, concise and has some nice wit too. This billboard is for another company that is a business-to-business company. Based on the quote, it implies they temporarily provide gpu to their customers. For those who may not know, GPUs are the hardware that powers much of the AI we see today. The brands message and selling proposition is that they rent gpu capacity to their customers. The Brands audience are AI companies and also individuals who don't want to deal with the expensive cost of building your own data center, purchase gpus, or even sign a contract with cloud providers like AWS. The brand does have values and they are convenience, cost savings, and simplicity. The billboards appeal is logos because the engaging in a straightforward manner. They are saying if you need GPU, we got it- come to us.
